TOEFL

TOEFL Stands for “Test of English as a Foreign Language"

It is a globally acknowledged, standardised English language test used to assess international students' English ability in Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing. The English Language Test result is very important in the abroad education admissions process.

There are two versions of the ETS TOEFL: ETS TOEFL - iBT Test and ETS TOEFL - PBT (* PBT is not available in Nepal)

ETS TOEFL - iBT Test is a internet-based exam that focuses on academic English in real-life situations. The TOEFL-iBT test is divided into four sections: speaking, listening, writing, and reading. Students are required to complete all portions using a computer with a microphone and camera. Because the iBT test pattern lacks a separate portion to assess applicants' grammatical skills, the writing section is closely scrutinized.

ETS TOEFL - PBT is an English language test that is administered on paper. This test is available to students who do not live near an internet-based testing center. The TOEFL PBT test structure differs from the iBT test in that it includes a separate essay part. The recordings in the PBT's listening part are shorter than those in the IBT

Over 150 countries recognize the TOEFL exam score, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The TOEFL Test Structure

The TOEFL - iBT test comprises of four sections – Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. You'll do tasks on the test that integrate these four English communication abilities, such as reading, listening, and then speaking in response to a question, as well as writing in response to a question.

Total Test Duration 3 hours

The test takes roughly 3 hours to finish in total, so you should prepare for 3 and a half hours, allowing 30 minutes for check-in.
